NC SBI UAV Unit leader, Michael Sheron, will be joining us on April 25, 2019 to discuss the SBI's UAV program from its conception to the future. Michael will also discuss how the SBI trains unit officers on UAV use, as well as their own process of receiving a COA from the FAA. Cody Whitelock will be joining us from Barnhill Contracting Company to discuss UAVs in the Construction Industry, particularly how unmanned technology is being actively used in site planning, job site monitoring, and inspections. Cody will then be joined by Paul "Drone" Jones with Pinnacle Eye Productions as they discuss Airshow management logistics for the Freedom Balloon Festival, including the process of seeking FAA Pat 107 Waivers.

We must protect the safety of the airspace, while developing new technologies and procedures that enable greater use of the 3rd dimension, and fulfilling the potential of a modern aviation society.
Most drone pilots know that Part 107 exists but did you know that North Carolina has a robust body of drone law, as well? Attorney Ashley Felton (Felton Banks, PLLC) will review some of the key NC drone laws, as well as share her experience litigating a criminal drone case in Wake County. Bring your questions because we will end with a Q&A forum!
We will be doing just a social to reconnect after our summer break. No speakers will be present this month, but we anticipate there being plenty of individuals that have the knowledge to help you grow or start your business.
